Ma-Task ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using Ma-Task you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
When you create a Ma-Task account we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). When you subscribe or withdraw earnings, we collect your M-Pesa phone number and transaction references provided by the payment processor. We do not store your M-Pesa PIN. We also collect standard usage data such as pages visited, device type, and browser information to help us improve the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve Ma-Task, including: • Creating and managing your account • Processing subscription payments and earnings withdrawals via M-Pesa • Sending transactional emails (verification codes, bid approvals, payment alerts) • Preventing fraud and ensuring platform security • Responding to your support requests We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
We share your data only with: • Payment processors (PayHero / Safaricom) to complete M-Pesa transactions • Email delivery providers (Resend) to send you transactional emails • Hosting and infrastructure providers necessary to operate the platform All third-party providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., transaction records).
5. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted password storage (bcrypt), HTTPS-only connections, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however we are committed to protecting your information.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To make a request, email us at support@ma-task.com. We will respond within 14 business days.
7. Cookies
Ma-Task uses session cookies required for authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect platform functionality.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Ma-Task after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
